The Friends of Coyote Hills is an award-winning coalition of volunteers from Fullerton and surrounding communities dedicated to preserving all of West Coyote Hills as a park and nature preserve for current and future generations. From grassroots outreach in our neighborhoods to advocacy in Sacramento, we have worked tirelessly to protect this irreplaceable natural treasure. Guided by our motto—"it can be done"—we remain committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure West Coyote Hills is preserved forever.
Save all 510 acres of West Coyote Hills as a nature preserve and park for now and future generations.
West Coyote Hills forever protected, forever thriving, forever connecting our community to the wild.
We partner to inspire a love of nature, restore ecosystems, educate communities, and ensure holistic management of this unified preserve—where native plants and wildlife flourish, where people forge lasting bonds with nature and community, and where intentional stewardship and thoughtful use guarantee its enduring legacy.
Founded in 2001 by Connie Spenger, Friends of Coyote Hills has grown into a community thousands strong. We are proud to be supported by respected organizations including the Center for Biodiversity, the Audubon Society (Sea and Sage Chapter), the Sierra Club, the California Native Plant Society, Hills for Everyone, and the Southern California Botanists.
In 2023, we transitioned from a fiscally sponsored project of FHBP to an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, formally incorporated as the Coyote Hills Conservation Fund, doing business as Friends of Coyote Hills.
Our Board of Directors is committed to realizing our mission and vision while building an organization that can adapt and grow to meet future challenges.
